FC Tucson scored twice in the second half tonight to upset Phoenix FC in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The match, held at Kino Sports Complex, was a big one for FC Tucson: Phoenix FC competes in the United Soccer Leagues Pro division, one level above FC Tucson's USL Premier Development League.

The way the underdogs won only adds to the excitement. Conner Bevans scored in stoppage time to give Tucson the lead; minutes earlier, the 18-year-old forward tied the game with a goal.

Tucson advances in the U.S. Open Cup, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious national tournaments.
