After losing in the regional round for the first time since the NCAA softball tournament expanded, the Arizona Wildcats today finished outside top 25 of both of softball’s final polls.
The UA received 13 votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25, making the Wildcats the de facto No. 32 team in the country.
It did not appear at all in the USA Today/NFCA Div. I Top 25, also released Tuesday.
The 33-26 Wildcats finished the season with the most losses in program history and the fewest wins since 1986.
National champion Oklahoma, which appeared atop the ESPN.com/USA Softball survey for every week of the regular season, was No. 1 in both polls.
