The Arizona Wildcats cruised to a run-rule victory in their first game of their Wildcat Invitational on Friday and won a closer second game.

In Arizona's first game at Hillenbrand Stadium, the Wildcats scored six in the first and six more in the third on their way to a 12-2 victory over UC-Riverside.

Arizona's Brigette Del Ponte hit her third homer of the season, a three-run shot in the first inning, and Chelsea Goodacre was 3 for 3 with two RBIs.

Nancy Bowling added two hits and three RBIs, and Alex Lavine had two hits and two RBIs.

Bowling allowed two runs in two innings and was replaced by Shelby Babcock. Babcock allowed one hit over the last three innings.

Arizona (12-5) was rolling in the second game, but Boston University got a three-run homer in the sixth. Arizona won 6-3.

Estela Pinon had pitched five shutout innings before allowing a walk, hitting a batter, and giving up a three-run homer to Megan Volpano.

Goodacre and Lauren Young both homered for the Wildcats.
