The visiting Arizona Wildcats used a ninth-inning homer from Chelsea Goodacre and solid outings from pitchers Nancy Bowling and Estela Piñon on Saturday to win the regular-season finale and the series from No. 13 Stanford.

Goodacre's homer - her 17th - came on the first pitch of the ninth inning and made it 4-3, the final score.

Arizona took advantage of 10 walks issued by three Stanford pitchers.

Bowling allowed base hits to the first three batters she faced and fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but then settled down. The freshman allowed four runners to reach base over the next five innings and ended up allowing three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Piñon (12-8), a junior, pitched 2 1/3 innings of one-hit ball. In her last seven appearances, all in relief, Piñon has pitched 12 2/3 innings and has allowed one unearned run with 15 strikeouts.

Hallie Wilson, Chelsea Suitos and Kelsey Rodriguez drove in runs for Arizona.

Alex Lavine, who entered the game with two total walks on the season, drew two bases on balls Saturday and added a base hit to extend her career-best hitting streak to seven games.

CDO grad Kayla Bonstrom was 2 for 2 for Stanford, extending her hitting streak to 16 games (.545 during that span).
