Arizona third baseman Lauren Young blasted four home runs to lead the Wildcats to a doubleheader sweep over Boise State on Saturday night at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Young hit a pair of three-run homers in the first game as Arizona won 14-4, and she belted a two-run shot and a solo homer in the second game as the Wildcats won 10-2 to improve to 18-5.
Young went 6 for 6 with nine RBIs in the sweep, and UA had nine HRs.
In the first game, Arizona led 2-1 after the first inning when it scored nine runs in the second, led off by Mandie Perez's three-run home run to right field and capped by Young's first three-run shot to left field.
Young, who went 3 for 3 with six RBIs in the game, added a three-run homer to center field in the fourth to make it 14-3.
Estela Piñon (6-2), a Sunnyside High grad, picked up the win for the Cats, scattering eight hits and striking out five in five innings.
In the second game, Boise State jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Hallie Wilson led off UA's bottom of the first with a homer to center.
The Cats scored four runs in the third, including a homer to right from Chelsea Goodacre and a two-run shot to left by Young.
Leading 5-2, the Cats kept pouring it on with five more runs in the fourth inning on three more homers - a two-run shot to left by Goodacre, a two-run blast from Piñon to left and a solo shot from Young to left.
Arizona pitcher Nancy Bowling (3-1) gave up four hits and two runs in the first inning, but held the Broncos hitless after that. She finished with eight strikeouts.
Arizona, which also beat Boise on Thursday 9-5, will travel to Fullerton, Calif., for the Judi Garman Classic next week. The Cats will face Virginia Tech at 11 a.m. and Notre Dame at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
