Lauren Young's three-run homer in the sixth inning gave Arizona the lead for good in its 5-3 win over No. 13-ranked Stanford on Thursday in Stanford, Calif.
Hallie Wilson added a solo homer in the seventh for the Wildcats (31-23, 8-14) , who were coming off a series win over No. 5 Arizona State last week.
Wilson scored a pair of runs for UA, as did Chelsea Suitos, who was 2 for 4.
Wilson walked to start the sixth and Suitos followed with a single. After a groundout, Young's 12th homer put Arizona up 4-3.
Estela Piñon (11-8) earned the win in relief, allowing one hit and striking out six in 2 1/3 hitless innings.
The Wildcats are now in a three-way tie for sixth place with Oregon State and UCLA in the Pac-12.
Stanford (35-18, 12-10) had taken a 3-1 lead with two runs in the third and one in the fifth.
