One week and three losses after falling from the ESPN.com / USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 for the first time in program history, the Arizona Wildcats plummeted out of the sport’s older poll.

It was another first for the UA: Since the creation of the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Div. I Top 25 in 1995, the Wildcats had never been out of the poll — until this week.

The UA’s streak ended after 269 consecutive weeks, and it followed a three-game sweep at the hands of Oregon State.

The Oklahoma Sooners were the unanimous No. 1 team in both polls.

Arizona (28-22, 5-13 Pac-12) will face Arizona State starting Friday at Hillenbrand Stadium. The Sun Devils were ranked fifth in Tuesday’s ESPN.com / USA Softball Collegiate Top 25.
