After losing twice Friday and being held scoreless through four innings Saturday, the University of Arizona softball team had an offensive explosion.

UA scored 15 runs in the top of the fifth inning and beat Cal State Fullerton 15-0 in five innings at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.

Chelsea Goodacre had a two-run and three-run homer in the inning, while Kellie Fox drove in three runs as UA sent 18 batters to the plate. Fox had three hits in the win, while Wilson, Kelsey Rodriguez, Courtney Rodriguez and Goodacre all had two.

Goodacre and Wilson each went 2 for 2 with two walks.

Kelsey Rodriguez leads the team with a .519 average while Courtney Rodriguez, Alex Lavine, Fox, Wilson and Chelsea Suitos are over .400.

Estela Piñon (5-2) earned the win, allowing only one hit in five innings. She struck out seven in lowering her ERA to 0.57.

The Wildcats played Houston later Saturday. The Cougars led 5-3 in the fifth inning at the Star’s press time.

Arizona wraps up play at the Classic with an 11:30 a.m. game against San Jose State today.
