Arizona Softball: Cats sweep tourney with 8-1 win

Two Arizona Wildcats are finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.

Junior left fielder Brittany Lastrapes and freshman pitcher Kenzie Fowler today were named among the 25 finalists, which will be pared down to 10 on May 12. The award winner will be announced May 26, just before the start of the Women's College World Series.

Lastrapes, who has hit in 15 straight games, boasts a .450 batting average with 11 homers and 41 RBIs.

Fowler is 20-2 with a 0.86 ERA.
