Arizona softball will be adding Caitlin Lowe — a former Wildcat, four-time All-American and two-time national champion — to its coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

Lowe served as the team’s director of operations in 2013, and she will coach outfielders and slappers in her new position.

“We are very excited that Caitlin will be a member of our coaching staff with primary duties working with the Arizona outfielders, slappers, and base running,” said head coach Mike Candrea. “We feel that Caitlin brings a great background as a player and will excel in working with our players on a day-to-day basis.”

Lowe was a Wildcat from 2004-07 where she’s second in UA history in batting average (.446), fourth in hits (351) and triples (12), seventh in runs scored (242) and first in stolen bases (156).

Mark Blair, who served last year as a volunteer coach on Candrea's staff, will take over as director of operations.
