Two Tucsonans and one former UA great will play for the USA Softball Women's National Team this year.

The squad, announced today, will feature former Sabino High School and University of Kentucky star Molly Johnson.

Jenae Leles, who played third base for the Arizona Wildcats softball team from 2006-09, made the squad one year after playing for the USA Softball Women's Futures National Team. She beat out, among others, current Wildcats third baseman Brigette Del Ponte.

They be joined by Salpointe Catholic graduate Tairia Mims Flowers, who is an assistant coach. Flowers won a national title at UCLA and a gold medal for the United States, and currently the Cal State Northridge head coach.

The team will play exhibitions starting June 25 in Florida, Virginia and Maryland before participating in the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship and the World Cup of Softball in July.

The squad will travel to Mexico for the Pan American Games in October.
