Former UA Wildcats fullback Taimi Tutogi will get his shot at the NFL - in fact, he may get a couple of shots.

Tutogi has been invited to rookie mini-camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which begins Friday. He'll have three days to prove himself and earn a rookie free-agent contract. But if it doesn't work out, he'll head to rookie camp with the New Orleans Saints the next weekend.

He also received an invite from the New York Jets, but it's scheduled on the same weekend as New Orleans' camp. The Chula Vista, Calif., native said he picked the Saints over the Jets because it was a better fit.

Other ex-Cats who signed free-agent deals and will attend rookie mini-camps are quarterback Matt Scott (Jacksonville), wide receiver Dan Buckner (Arizona) and center Kyle Quinn (Philadelphia). Scott may battle ex-Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers, a free agent signee who's the brother of Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers.
