EDMONTON, Alberta - Jordan Eberle scored in regulation and in the shootout as the Edmonton Oilers snapped a two-game slide with a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Sam Gagner also scored in the shootout and Teemu Hartikainen had the other goal in regulation for the Oilers, who rallied from a two-goal deficit to close out their five-game homestand 2-3.

Kyle Chipchura and Mikkel Boedker scored for the Coyotes, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith was excellent with 41 saves, but couldn't stop Eberle and Gagner in the shootout.

Wildcats women's track team finishes third

The Arizona women's track and field team finished third at the MPSF Championships on Saturday, while the men placed ninth. UA's Brigetta Barrett won the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches) while Julie Labonté won the shot put with a toss of 57-4 3/4. For the Wildcat men, Edgar Rivera-Morales won the high jump (7-3).

• The UA women's tennis team (6-5) lost 4-3 at North Texas on Saturday. Lacey Smyth won at No. 1 singles and Kim Stubbe won at No. 2 for the Wildcats.

• The UA club hockey team ended its regular season with a 3-1 loss to visiting Arizona State on Saturday.

Edwards named top ACCAC player

Pima women's basketball player A'jha Edwards (Tombstone) has been named the ACCAC Division II player of the year. Edwards led the Aztecs in points (14.0) and rebounds (13.2), and was second in NJCAA field goal percentage (60.5).

• The Pima softball team (15-5) extended its win streak to seven by sweeping Monroe (N.Y.) College in a doubleheader Saturday, winning 8-0 and 4-3.

• The Aztecs baseball team (6-9-1) swept host Mesa on Saturday, winning 7-0 and 5-4.

Jutanugarn leads in Thailand

CHONBURI, Thailand - Thai teenager Ariya Jutanugarn shot a 2-under 70 Saturday to lead by three strokes after the third round of the LPGA Thailand despite finishing with two bogeys.

• Barcelona's Lionel Messi extended his league-record scoring run to 15 straight games in a 2-1 win over Sevilla on Saturday.

• The Chicago Bears hired Mike Groh as their receivers coach.
