Robb Salant and Kristie Stevens can get used to this.

For the third straight season, the Catalina Foothills boys and girls tennis teams will play for a state championship.

And, for the two head coaches, it never gets old.

"Every year is different," Stevens said. "I never take anything for granted. We just want to stay focused on the task at hand."

The Falcons girls blanked Cave Creek Cactus Shadows 5-0 to advance to the finals. Foothills has won all four of its postseason matches 5-0.

Stevens' squad has won 10 state titles in 11 years, with 2008 the only exception.

Rachana Bhat and Zaina Sufi won singles matches for Foothills. The Falcons also won all three doubles matches.

Foothills will face Phoenix Sunnyslope in the finals. Sunnyslope beat Nogales 5-2 in the other semifinal matchup.

The Falcon boys also easily advanced to the finals, beating Cactus Shadows, as well, 5-0.

Salant and Foothills are going for their seventh straight state title.

The Falcons will see a familiar opponent when they square off against Sabino in the finals.

The Sabercats blanked Avondale Agua Fria 5-0.

Sabino and Foothills hooked up twice during the regular season with the Falcons winning both matches.

"We have to convince the kids not to get overconfident," Salant said. "It's totally different now."

In its semifinal victory, Foothills got singles wins from Wade Heerboth and Jason Keatseangsilp.

Sabino got singles wins from Steven Bonhoff and Kyle Holmes.

"I love the way we're playing right now," Sabino coach David Klees said. "The guys are playing huge right now, and they're playing together."
