The Sabino boys stayed hot Saturday in the Division III individual tournament in Glendale.

In singles action, top-seeded James Soper won twice to lock up a spot in Monday's semifinals at the Paseo Racquet Center.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 doubles team of Stephen Bonhoff and Jackson Lee also clinched a semifinal berth.

Soper beat Santa Rita's Rich Foitik 6-0, 6-0 in his first match, then topped eighth-seeded Matt Fisher from Fountain Hills 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

Bonhoff and Lee won their first match 6-1, 6-0 over Catalina, then topped Cottonwood Mingus Union 6-3, 6-0.

Pusch Ridge Christian also will have a representative in each of the two Division III girls tournaments.

Fourth-seeded Allie Scott won twice, 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-0. She will face No. 1 seed Erin Cory from Estrella Foothills on Monday.

In doubles, Sami Towne and Mara Batinica beat Desert Christian 6-0, 6-0 and escaped Douglas 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to move on.

The Sabino girls team also advanced a doubles team. Fifth-seeded Sussana Studwell and Leah Dajches won 6-1, 6-0 in their early match, then had to rally for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win in their second.

Fifth-seeded Evan Gazic from Pusch Ridge Christian won his first match 6-1, 6-1, then fell 6-2, 6-0 to No. 4 seed DeWitt Evans from Safford.

The semifinals will start at 11 a.m. Monday at the Paseo Racquet Center. Finals are set for Monday at 1:30 p.m.
