Tapping maple syrup

Some of the first sap of the year dripped from a maple tree at Jacque's Suar Bush near Thorp, WI on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Owner Mike Jacque will tap about 1,800 maple trees a year. "I'd be surprised if we're not cooking on Monday," he said. Jacque and others say they are expecting this to be a strong year for maple syrup production after unseasonably warm weather took its toll last March.
