Accordion player Felipe Perez, with Milagro Norteo (there's a ~ over the 2nd N) plays for the horseback riders as they arrive from their ride at the 17th annual Coyote Creek Ride and Fiesta to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters, at 14901 E Old Spanish Trail. Around 110 horseback riders rode about two-and-a-half hours, with a break for lunch, which made it a roughly seven to eight mile ride, said host Peter Backus of Backus Realty and Development. After the ride, a fiesta lunch of roasted pig and chicken was served. There was also a raffle and an auction after the lunch. Proceeds from the event were to be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters' nonprofit youth mentoring organization. In addition, Vail Academy and High School student, Brandon LeBlanc, who is from a single-parent household, received a $5,000 scholarship to attend the University of Arizona, said Debbie Backus. She said she hoped the event could raise as much as $50,000 from the ride, luncheon and auction. The photo was taken on Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz.
