Coffee (or wine), community and all things needle and thread — the perfect way to spend a Sunday.
From 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, you can join fellow needle wielders at Exo Roast Co., 403 N. Sixth Ave., as part of the coffee shop's regular Analog Hour series.
"Analog Hour is the third Sunday of every month and we hold three hours of analog, digital-free activities (such as sewing) to help folks detox and tune into something rather than their phones or computers," writes Amy Smith, an owner of Exo, in an email. Thread & Vine will continue the third Sunday of each month.
This is for all fiber arts lovers — bring your embroidery, knitting, crocheting and even machine work.
Melissa Dudley, who does custom garment design, will be on hand to help, mostly with sewing troubleshooting.
"Exo is my favorite coffee spot in Tucson, and spending time there naturally progressed into Amy and I both wanting to encourage the community to gather and be productive in fixing the piles of clothes that tend to build up," Dudley writes in a Facebook message chat.
Dudley adds that the coffee shop has hosted structured beginner sewing workshops and wanted to offer a time for people to relax with friends and tackle undone projects.
"Sometimes the skills we are learning are actually how to tune into each other and remember what it feels like to not be on our phones all the time!" Smith writes.
There will also be specials on wine and appetizers.
