If you love yoga and puppies, prepare to have your mind blown.
You can practice yoga in a room full of puppies Friday, Dec. 8. And just by paying the $10 admission, you will be helping a local dog rescue.
That's right. Your down dog (and big heart) can rescue a puppy.
Barefoot Studios is hosting Puppies and Poses to raise money for Lil Bit of Love. All funds raised will go to the organization.
The hope is, of course, for puppies to find homes, but donations of crates, toys and money are also appreciated.
The event was coordinated by Liz Johnson, an instructor with Barefoot Studios and Brianna Arndt, the studio's owner.
Johnson is a "true advocate for dogs in general," Arndt said. "She's a phenomenal human being."
Last time the studio hosted an event like this, it was a huge success.
"It caught the community's attention," Arndt said. "They are able to do so much more for these animals than we anticipated coming from a single event."
The rescue will bring about 20 puppies and let them loose to play and wander during the one-hour practice. It will also bring photos of other dogs they have available.
"It's kind of adorable," Arndt said. "And it's holiday time. We were like 'we need to have Puppies and Poses before Christmas because it's a great time to get these animals adopted...At the very least, who doesn't wanna cuddle with a puppy for an hour or so?"
