The red carpet is literally rolled out to welcome students as they return for the new academic year at the Tucson Country Day School. It originally opened as a private school in 1968 with students in pre-school through the sixth grade. In 2000, it became a public charter school. Now, Tucson Country Day School is a tuition-free public charter school with students from kindergarten through the eighth grade.
