Just as the sun comes up Cheryl Palen uses a handy palm tree to help her warm up in the chilly morning air prior to the start of the 19th Annual Thanksgiving Cross-Country Classic at Reid Park, Thursday November 23, 2012. Sharon Bart co-race director estimated that approximately 2,400 runners and walkers in a men's 5K, a women's 5K and a one mile fun run/walk put their holiday on hold to test the European-style cross country course that featured hay bale obstacles as well. The event raised about $2,000 for Toys For Tots.
