Highlight: Slugger Mike Wilson was the star for Tucson on Friday night. The left fielder got things started for the Padres in the first inning, smacking a double to center field and driving in two runs in the opening frame. He added an RBI in the fourth and two in the fifth in finishing 4 for 5. It was the first time Wilson had four hits this season, and the third time he had three or more.

Big number: 15. Fifteen-

game hitting streak for center fielder Reymond Fuentes dating to Aug. 7 when he was still in Double-A San Antonio. Fuentes was called up to Triple-A Tucson on Aug. 10 and has been hitting leadoff since. He has a .444 batting average during the hit streak.

Tonight’s starters: RHP Burch Smith, Tucson (5-1, 3.86 ERA) vs. RHP Hector Noesi (3-2, 6.00 ERA)
