The Tucson Police Department needs the public assistance in identifying a prolific cigarette thief.  Between Feb. 17 and April 14, 2013, a group of thieves have hit Tucson Circle K stores nine times, stealing cigarettes. One man who has been involved in most of the thefts was caught on surveillance video. During the incidents, the thieves enter the convenience stores with some kind of bag – trash bag, athletic bag, duffle bag, suitcase – walk behind the cashier’s counter and fill the bags with cigarettes and liquor. In each incident the thieves wore hooded sweatshirts or hooded jackets in an attempt to hide their faces. They have committed as many as three thefts in one day. “Due to the brazen conduct of this group of suspects and the disregard toward both the citizens of Tucson and the employees of Circle K stores,” detectives are eager to catch them, Sgt. Maria Hawke, spokeswoman for the TPD said.
