QuikTrip has added a series of made-to-order food counters where customers can get freshly-made foods such as flatbreads, toasted sandwiches, pizza, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies and specialty coffee drinks.
The new concept, QT Kitchens, has been rolled out in 13 of the company’s 19 Tucson stores. The kitchens will be added to the six remaining stores by April 28.
“We want to give our customers an elevated food and drink experience,” said Andy Houdashelt, director of food for QuikTrip, which is known for its large convenience stores and gas stations. “And that means providing a brand new menu full of flavor and variety.”
Customers can still get a hot dog off of the roller grill or a prepackaged sandwich, but now have the option to get a meal freshly prepared by staff working behind the made-to-order counter from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
