Fans of the Old Pueblo Trolley only have a few weeks left to enjoy rides on the historic vehicles.
The trolleys will temporarily cease operations at the end of this month as the city prepares to start construction on the modern streetcar, according to a city news release.
The trolleys, which run Fridays through Sundays, will have a special last run on Halloween.
The city will begin removing track and overhead lines along the trolley’s route, which stretches from Main Gate Square at the University of Arizona to North Fourth Avenue.
Old Pueblo Trolley volunteers will work with the city to make sure the historic trolleys comply with requirements so the vehicles can share the route with the streetcar.
Regular one-way fares are $1.50 and round trip fares are $3.
The hours of operation are: 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays; noon to midnight on Saturdays; and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Old Pueblo Trolley expects the trolleys to hit the streets again in 2013.
