Farmers Dinner at Maynards
The menu for this month's farmers dinner at Maynards Market & Kitchen reads like that of a five-star restaurant with a local twist. Most of the signature ingredients that will be used in Sunday's five-course dinner were raised and grown in Southern Arizona.
Chef Addam Buzzalini plans to start things off with a house-made charcuterie using local pork, then move to a confit Amish chicken soup with local root vegetables and black trumpet mushrooms. The menu also includes a salad of River Road garden greens dressed in simple vinaigrette topped by a cooked Happy Hen egg, followed by a main course that highlights San Javier beef and Native Seed Search cannelloni beans. Dessert is an old-school French pear tart.
The dinner is at 5 p.m. Sunday at Maynards, 400 N. Toole Ave. The cost is $60 per person and includes wine pairings. Reservations are required by calling 545-0577 or online at www.maynardsmarket.com
For this dinner Maynards has partnered with Santa Cruz Valley Heritage Alliance, which will receive 10 percent of proceeds from the dinner. Space is limited to 30 people.
