Josten has a big theme

The piece called "Transformer" is one of Katherine Josten's works now on exhibhit.

Artist Katherine Josten thinks big. And paints big.

The Tucson artist's works are on display through May 4 at Davis Dominguez Gallery. Josten is the founder and director of the Global Art Project, which connects thousands of artists around the world.

That's the thinking-big part.

You can find the painting-big part at the exhibit. The installation project - it's been an ongoing project of hers for years - includes massive canvases incorporating Josten's poetry with her abstract expressionist art. According to a release from the gallery, the show's theme "is celestial space, with much mystery and high contrast optical effect."

Davis Dominguez is at 154 E. Sixth St., 629-9759.
