Phillip Ferranti, best known for the 18 years he spent as the owner of La Placita Cafe, plans to open El Cisne (Spanish for “The Swan”) — a restaurant that will focus on He plans to open in a 3,300-square-foot space at 4717 E. Sunrise Drive by the end of September.
The restaurant’s menu will represent various regions of Mexico and will include steak, pork and chicken dishes, with an emphasis on seasonal fish.
Ferranti said El Cisne will look less like a traditional Tucson Mexican restaurant and more “like what you see when you go into North or Fleming’s.”
“Those types of restaurants exist all over in Mexico, but not so much in Tucson,” he said.
