Smashburger has opened its fourth Tucson area location April 6 in Oro Valley.

The beacon of burger bounty is at 7625 N. Oracle Road, in the shopping plaza anchored by Sprouts just north of West Ina Road. Its hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

“I’m really excited about it," said Eric Wolf, the franchise operator of the three other Tucson Smashburger restaurants. "Tucson is a good burger town. There’s a tremendous amount of competition. I would say that we not only compete with the better burger players but also the fast-casual restaurants."

Wolf opened his first Tucson Smashburger in November 2012 at 4821 E. Grant Road. The second one followed in fall 2013 at 3837 E. Broadway and third arrived in spring 2014 at 6970 E. 22nd St.

The nearly 2,000-square-foot Oro Valley restaurant seats 61 in the dining room and 26 on the patio, Wolf said. It will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Wolf, who spent 26 years working for Pizza Hut on the corporate level, said he plans to open one or two more restaurants in the Tucson area.
