Tucson is all about country music in October.
- The Oro Valley Music Festival on Oct. 13-14 will have a country day. No announcements have been made, but the fourth annual festival, which moves this year to Oro Valley’s Naranja Park from its home the past three years at the Golf Club at Vistoso, brings in a big-name country headliner and a supporting cast of rising national stars alongside one or two local artists.
- Scotty McCreery (“Five More Minutes,” “See You Tonight”) is coming to Centennial Hall on Oct. 24 with UA Presents.
- And across town at the AVA at Casino del Sol, the rising country trio Midland, fronted by Sonoita native Mark Wystrach, performs an encore Oct. 24 to its sold-out late April show at the Rialto Theatre.
The lineup and details for the Oro Valley festival have not been released, but tickets to McCreery go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, through ticketmaster.com
That’s also when you can get Midland tickets through tickets.casinodelsol.com
Unless they get a late addition, Midland likely will be the final show of the AVA’s 2018 summer season. Other recent additions to the lineup include Keith Sweat with En Vogue Aug. 5; Rick Springfield with Loverboy, Greg Kihn and Tommy Tutone on Aug. 19; Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Sept. 2; and 3 Doors Down & Collective Soul: The Rock & Roll Express Tour on Sept. 18.
