Ryan David Green, one half of the Tucson Ryanhood duo, will play a solo gig with Texas-born singer-songwriter Jay Brannan Saturday at Club Congress.
Green, who has spent the past six years touring the country with his acoustic duo partner Cameron Hood, is preparing to release his solo debut album. Expect to hear plenty of cuts off that project as well as some Ryanhood favs.
Brannan, a tenor, has vocal chops more in the line of Ani DiFranco and Liz Phair than Jason Mraz. His shows are intimate living room affairs sometimes broken up with angry rants in the vein of female singers like Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell.
Saturday's show starts at 7 at Club Congress, 311 E. Congress St. Tickets are $10 in advance at www.hotelcongress.com or $12 day of show at the door.
