The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards — It might not be Hollywood’s most prestigious trophy bash, but this free-flowing celebration of the year’s best movies and TV shows is usually the most entertaining. That should be the case again as Ricky Gervais returns to host for a record fifth time. Snarky and irreverent, Gervais is known for the kind of barbs that puncture A-list egos. At a time when the Oscars and Emmys have gone the no-host route, he’s a welcome sight. Sunday, NBC.
