Robert M. M.D. and Martha Knox

Robert age 96 of Oro Valley, AZ beloved physician and surgeon, role model and mentor passed away February 26, 2013. He was born in Westmoreland, Kansas on December 18, 1916 to Robert and Ossie Knox. He attended the University of Kansas and KU Medical School. He served in WWII and as a Captain in the Navy Reserves. In 1949 he married his beloved Martha Roots (she preceded him in death June 8, 2008) who served in the Airforce as an operating room nurse. He was in private practice in Des Moines, Iowa and later reviewed cases for Social Security retiring at age 85. He is survived by his son, Jim Knox; daughter, Jane Rompel; grandson, Tommy Rompel; granddaughter, Trisha Rompel; brother-in-law, Ralph Hepp; nieces, Karen Olson Sharp and Bobbi Scritchfield; grandniece, Sarah Alvidrez and her children, Maggie and Ray. The family wished to convey their heartfelt thanks to Fairwinds Desert Point, Comforcare, and the friends at Catalina Foothills church.
