Stone Curves is a place designed by, run by, even partially built by the residents themselves, where the intention is to foster community.

This is the common house at Stone Curves, a co-housing community in the north central part of Tucson on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. The common house has a library, craft room, exercise room, computer room, living room and three guest rooms where neighbors can socialize, hold meetings and eat together if they choose. Dan and Gina Kruse work in the common kitchen at Stone Curves preparing dinner for 38. The community has a weekly meal club open to all residents. Guests are encouraged to clean up and help out. Members sign up for a 6-8 week rotation. About half of the community population of about 48 households participate in the weekly meal club. Ron Medvescek/Arizona Daily Star
