The rhythm of 800 or so running shoes pounding pavement, the serenade of grade-school mariachis, the drone of bagpipes and the chants of Mountain View High School cheerleaders provided the soundtrack for the one-year anniversary of the Meet Me at Maynards walk/run Monday night.
The weekly event featured about 10 local bands that performed along the route, which winds through Downtown.
The two-, three- and four-mile routes begin and end at Maynards Market and Kitchen, a store and restaurant in the renovated train depot at 400 N. Toole Ave.
The event is free. Dogs and strollers are welcome. It begins at 5:30 p.m. each Monday.
