Two people were arrested Sept. 7 in connection to an armed robbery of a Circle K on the city's north side, police said.

Melissa Rose Harmsen, 28, and Jamar Roshaun Atkins, 33, were taken into custody and booked into the Pima County jail, said Sgt. Kim Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

Harmsen is facing facilitation to commit armed robbery. Atkins is facing armed robbery and a Department of Corrections parole violation, Bay said.

Detectives worked information and linked Atkins as a suspect in 15-plus armed robberies beginning in late July.

He was taken into custody at an apartment in the 3700 block of East Bellevue Street. Detectives also located and arrested Harmsen, Bay said.

In addition to police, the multi-agency Auto Theft Task Force and U.S. Marshals Service also worked the investigation.
