Three people were arrested on Feb. 17 in connection with a counterfeit money operation being run out of an apartment in central Tucson, authorities said.
19-year-old Cody Anderson was booked into the Pima County jail on charges relating to the passing of fake counterfeit bills. A three-month investigation into the operation began after fake $100 bills began turning up in the same stores around town.
Tucson Police, with help from the U.S. Secret Service, found the suspects through surveillance video and help from witnesses. On two occasions, Anderson gave his driver's license to the store clerk when asked to see it.
21-year-old Joshua Blake and 34-year-old Krista Blanchard, the suspected manufacturer of the fake bills, were also arrested as a result of the investigation.
