We told you a couple of weeks ago about how state Rep. Frank Antenori, R-Tucson, didn’t want the word “Tucson” next to his name because even though he lives in the city limits he represents a much broader slice of Southern Arizona.
(He told the Republic, however, that he didn’t want to be associated with the “hippies” that run the city.)
Now, Republican Sen. Al Melvin is showing the Old Pueblo some love.
Melvin says he wants to be associated with Tucson.
The freshman Senator from District 26 has respectfully asked us to stop referring to him like this: R-SaddleBrooke. Melvin said he prefers “Tucson” over the name of his retirement community North of town. SaddleBrooke is not an incorporated community — it’s more of a state of mind (our words, not his).

But his mailing address, Melvin said, is Tucson and he tells people that’s where he lives.
Maybe Antenori and Mevin can swap houses.
