Truck takes flight in east Tucson rollover

  • Updated

A woman driving a pickup truck Saturday afternoon was ejected when the vehicle left the road and rolled into a wash.

The rollover at East Irvington Road and South Camino Seco, occurred at about 1:50 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing the white truck “flying upwards of 30 feet in the air,” Capt. Barrett Baker, spokesman for the Tucson Fire Department, said.

A rescue helicopter transported the driver to a local hospital with critical injuries, Baker said. He had no further information Saturday afternoon.

The crash is under investigation.
