HEART — Happy Equine Acres Rescue and Therapy — of Tucson is working with other local animal-rescue groups and authorities to ensure the safety of horses and other animals in Sierra Vista affected by the Monument Fire.

To raise money for that effort, Clay Harper, horse trainer and self-described horse whisperer, will hold a “Problem-Solving Horse Clinic” from 9 a.m. to noon  Sunday at Vail Feed Store, 13105 E. Colossal Cave Road.

Harper will help people with issues such as trailer loading, personal space, and learning how to better communicate with their horse.

Cost is a $100 rider’s fee or a $25 auditor’s fee. To sign up for the clinic or for more information, call Patty at 603-4126.

All proceeds will go toward helping animals affected by the fire.
