Border Patrol agents found a catapult attached to the border fence near Douglas designed to hurl marijuana into Arizona on Feb. 10.

A marijuana-flinging catapult attached to the south side of the border fence was found near Douglas.

Border Patrol agents discovered the catapult Feb. 10 after several people in Mexico fled an area east of the Douglas Port of Entry, the agency said in a news release Tuesday.

Agents also found two bundles of marijuana, which weighed a combined 47 pounds, nearby on the Arizona side of the fence. Agents dismantled the catapult and turned it over to Mexican authorities.
