A man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot at an apartment complex on Tucson's north side, authorities say.

The shooting occurred near North First Avenue and East Prince Road shortly after 5 p.m., said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman. Motorists should avoid the area.

Dugan said there have been no arrests but detectives are investigating.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster line.
