Three Tucson residents lost their homes in two separate fires late Friday night, and fire officials believe one of the blazes was arson.
Firefighters spent nearly an hour extinguishing a fire that started around 10:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Belvedere Avenue, near Speedway and Swan Road, said Tucson Fire Capt. Paul McDonough.
The fire, likely the result of an electrical problem, spread into the attic of the home and caused $250,000 in damage, McDonough said.
The two homeowners were able to get out uninjured, but one firefighter was treated at a local hospital for exhaustion and released, McDonough said.
"It was one of those fires where we had to get everyone off the roof and out of the house," McDonough said. "We had to fight the fire defensively."
Six minutes after firefighters arrived at the Belvedere fire, they received a report of another fire about 12 blocks away in the 5700 block of East Lee Street, McDonough said.

That suspected arson fire, which was brought under control within 17 minutes, caused about $200,000 in damage, McDonough said.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, McDonough said.
