A 48-year-old Tucson man is facing between 16 and 36 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and aggravated driving under the influence Monday morning in Pima County Superior Court.
Edward Gomez Nava will be sentenced April 16 by Judge Clark Munger, said Deputy Pima County Attorney Nicolette Kneup.
Albert Eugene Brack, 56, was riding his bicycle east on East Escalante Road near South Camino Seco when Nava struck him, Tucson police said.
Brack, who was wearing a helmet and riding in the bicycle lane, was taken by paramedics to a local hospital, where he died.
Officers found Nava on foot and his abandoned 2006 Ford F-150 pickup nearby.
