Detectives ID body found near bicycle southwest of Tucson

Traffic detectives from the Pima County Sheriff's Department continue their investigation of a man found dead near a bicycle at South Palomino and West Bilby roads on June 19, 2019. According to Deputy James Allerton, a department spokesman, a 911 call came in at 10:15 a.m. No further information was available.

Authorities have identified a man who was found dead southwest of Tucson on Wednesday.

Jose Gamez, 65, was found near a bicycle near South Palomino and west Bilby roads, north of West Valencia Road. He was found about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, said Deputy James Allerton, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

The cause of death is still being investigated, Allerton said. 

No further information has been released.
