Streaks of LED lights mark the paths of several high-speed drones circling the bionuat habitat building at Biosphere 2 during the third stop on the Drone Racing League season late Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Streaks of LED light mark the paths of 12 high-speed drones competing in the Drone Racing League around a course inside and outside the University of Arizona’s Biosphere 2 north of Tucson, at speeds in excess of 90 mph. The pilots, who raced Saturday night, were vying to qualify for the league’s season finale, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia. According to the UA, “The race is the third of a seven-race 2018 DRL Allianz World Championship Season and will air in the fall on leading sports networks — including ESPN, Sky and Prosieben — in more than 75 countries this fall.”
