Los Gallegos concert April 13 at the Gaslight
The Tucson band Los Gallegos will perform at 7 p.m. April 13 at the Gaslight Theatre, 7010 E. Broadway.
The band's repertoire will include Tejano, norteño, classic rock and oldies music, a media release said.

American Legion dinner to help Scouts go to camp
Boy Scouts of America Troop 770 will serve a chicken enchilada dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the McCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post 109, 15921 S. Houghton Road.

The $6 meal includes dessert and a beverage, a media release said. Proceeds will help send the Scouts to summer camp. For more information, call Linda Smith at 762-5852.

Vail schools hold sessions on kindergarten info
Vail Schools will hold Kindergarten Roundup, information sessions for parents whose children will turn 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2009. The sessions will be held at various times and dates at the elementary schools.

Solar power meeting at Academy Village April 9
Residents of the Academy Village and other Vail-area communities can learn the basics of using solar power in their homes during an upcoming meeting.
The meeting will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 9 in the Academy Village Great Room, 13701 E. Old Spanish Trail.
Representatives from the Arizona Research Institute for Solar Energy, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' office and Tucson Electric Power Co. are scheduled to speak at the meeting, a media release said.
A meeting with more detailed information on implementing solar power is scheduled from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 22 at the same location, the release said.

Between the Tracks event celebrates Vail history
A parade, run, music, pioneer luncheon and model railroad layout will be part of the festivities Saturday during the Vail Preservation Society's Fourth Annual Between the Tracks Celebration.
The celebration runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 13105 E. Colossal Cave Road. As the event's name suggests, that's literally between two sets of railroad tracks. The run begins at 8 a.m., with the other activities starting at 9 a.m. The parade, which organizers dub the world's shortest, is at 10 a.m.
Between the Tracks promotes the restoration of the Old Vail Post Office, a media release from the nonprofit Vail Preservation Society said. The historic building is located in the same area as the celebration.
