Tucson Symphony Orchestra Music Director and Conductor George Hanson will make his annual season's preview visit to Academy Village at 4 p.m. Friday in the Great Room of the Arizona Senior Academy.

The talk is free and open to the public.

The TSO's season will highlight Arizona's centennial and provide a year of classical, pop and special-events concerts at the Tucson Convention Center in downtown Tucson and around town.

The season opens Oct. 14 with the first of nine classics concerts, the first featuring the Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique."

The TSO also produces Pops events as well as Concert Specials.

The symphony plays most of its concerts at the convention center, but it also travels around the greater Tucson area, performing at the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch and Catalina Foothills High School, as well as in Green Valley.

Hanson has directed the Tucson Symphony Orchestra since 1996. Under his leadership its first recording, released in 2008, rose to No. 2 on the U.S. classical charts.
