Tucson police are looking for more information about a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a bicyclist on North Swan Road on Friday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was riding his bicycle northbound on Swan between East Camp Lowell Drive and the Rillito River bridge when he was hit by a vehicle.
Witnesses say the vehicle, which did not stop, is a black compact sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima, with extensive windshield damage and possible front-end damage, police said.
The driver was described by witnesses as female, with reddish hair.
After hitting the cyclist, she fled north on Swan, then west on East River Road.
Traffic detectives are confident that there were additional witnesses who have not yet come forward.
