Man barricades himself in home on Tucson's south side

A man has barricaded himself in a home on Tucson's south side, officials say.

According to Tucson police spokesman Officer Ray Smith, the man was driving a stolen vehicle about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police began following the driver, who then exited the car and barricaded himself into a home near West Columbia Street and South Ninth Avenue, south of West Ajo Way. Police are still on scene.

No one else is inside the home, Smith says.
